Twas December the 10th, we remember the night,
we were waiting for bedtime, not a paci in sight.
The paci's were put in the mailbox with care,
and sent to the North Pole for Santa to share!
The children were ready to get in their beds,
while visions of pacifiers danced in their heads.
With Dad in his sweatpants, he said, "Come on Hon,"
Lets put them to bed, it has to be done!
We knew that real soon, we'd hear a loud clatter,
and we'd spring from the couch, ready for battle.
We sat down together, to wait for the worst,
listening through the monitors, who would cry first?
The white noise was humming, the clocked ticked on,
we waited for the screams, that may last 'til dawn.
But what to our listening ears did we hear?
Not a peep, not a sound, not even a tear!
Our two little boys, loved their paci's SO much...
Was quitting cold turkey going to be the right touch?
But still not a sound came from either boys room,
as we waited for the likely inevitable doom!
"We did it, we did it, their paci's are gone!
What an idea, way to go Mom!"
To the mailbox they went, and threw them inside,
Not a tear, not ONE tear, was even cried!
Our kids are so brave, we're so proud of our boys!
Tomorrow we'll go to the store for new toys!
They slept through the night, for 12 hours straight,
they never woke once, they did so great!
In the morning we hugged them and squeezed them real tight,
"You're pacifier free...and all in one night!"
